The estimation of red cell volume with 51Cr-labelled erythrocytes and plasma volume with radioiodinated human serum albumin.
The validity of a simplified procedure for the direct estimation of both red cell and plasma volume, using (51)Cr-labelled erythrocytes and radioiodinated human serum albumin, has been examined. It is suggested that the procedure, involving three venepunctures only, will yield accurate measurements of both compartments.
متن کامل99m Tc-labelled serum albumin in cardiac output and blood volume studies.
The use of human serum albumin labelled with iodine-131 (RIHSA) as the radioactive indicator in the measurement of cardiac output by the external counting technique is not ideal since the emission characteristics, physical half-life, and physiological fate restrict the amount that can be administered. A more suitable material, especially because of the short physical half-life of the isotope in...
متن کاملStability of bovine serum albumin labelled by rhodamine B isothiocyanate
The aim of this study was to label Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) by Rhodamine B Isothiocyanate (RBITC) and test its stability in vivo. RBITC-BSA was labelled by the improved Marshall’s method, scanned at full wavelength, and the RBITC:BSA ratio was calculated. Blood and urine samples were obtained from rabbits injected with the RBITC-BSA complex and SDS-PAGE analysis was performed. Full wavelength...
متن کاملCrystals of Serum Albumin for Use
Serum albumin crystal forms have been produced which exhibit superior x-ray diffraction quality. The crystals are produced from both recombinant and wild-type human serum albumin, canine, and baboon serum albumin and allow the performance of drug-binding studies as well as genetic engineering studies. The crystals are grown from solutions of polyethylene glycol or ammonium sulphate within presc...
متن کاملAn improved method for determination of serum albumin and globulin.
A simple and reliable method has been developed for the analysis of serum proteins. Globulins are precipitated from serum with HCI-ethanol. The albumin remains in the supernatant fluid. The albumin fraction is then precipitated by alcoholic sodium acetate. The proteins are redissolved and determined colorimetrically following their reaction with the biuret reagent. Recovery and electrophoretic ...
